Michael B. O'Higgins
President and Chief Investment Officer
Michael B. O’Higgins was born and raised in Venezuela, due to his father’s employment in the petroleum industry. He grew up living and studying in various countries in South America, Southeast Asia, North Africa, and Europe before returning to the United States to attend college.
After earning a B.S. in Economics from Siena College, Michael worked for Procter & Gamble, before entering the investment business in 1971 as a stockbroker trainee for Spencer Trask & Company, and later White, Weld & Company. He opened his own money management firm in early 1978.
Michael has been the subject of articles in Time Magazine, Barron’s, Forbes, Business Week, Money Magazine, Financial World, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, USA Today, and The Financial Times, as well as a special guest on CNBC’s Smart Money and a regular guest on PBS’s Nightly Business Report.
He is the author of the best-selling investment classic Beating the Dow (HarperCollins, 1991), that popularized the legendary “Dogs of the Dow” strategy, as well as Beating the Dow with Bonds (HarperCollins, 1999).
Michael holds the Series 65 Investment Adviser license.
Colin P. O'Higgins, CFP®
Research and Sales
Colin graduated from Tufts University with degrees in International Relations and Spanish, and was a member of the varsity squash team. He lives in Naples, FL with his wife and son. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and holds a Series 65 Investment Adviser license and Connecticut and Florida Life and Health Insurance licenses.
Donna B. O'Higgins
Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Donna was born in England and came to the United States as a small child. She received a B.A. and an M.A. in Social Studies from the University at Albany. She previously worked as a computer systems analyst for New York State Teachers Retirement System and for the Environmental Conservation Department. She is the proud mother of four adult sons and grandmother of five.
Christopher M. Briggs
Director of Administration
Chris has over 30 years of experience in the fields of investment management, trust banking and insurance, and has served as president of an NASD registered broker/dealer. He holds a B.S. in Economics from St. Lawrence University, and lives with his wife, Carrie, and two dogs in Cohoes, NY. Chris is an active member of the local community, having served on both the school board and planning board and now on the city council.
Sean D. O'Higgins, CFP®
Sean is an experienced investment professional and financial planner with over 10 years in the investment business. He has degrees in Economics and Spanish from the College of the Holy Cross as well as an MBA from the University at Albany. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and a CRPC® Chartered Retirement Plan Counselor and also holds health and life insurance licenses.
